Oct. 9th, 2005 06:59 pmWe had a lot of fun on Saturday. Kate had her soccer game at 11 am, which meant that we had to be there at 10:40. Al ran out to the store to buy oranges to cut up, since we were in charge of snack this week. They played an amazing game, with some wonderful teamwork and ball handling. It was an exciting game. Kate had a turn as goalie, and she blocked one attempted goal with her side. Not entirely intentional, but she was between the ball and the goal and her side stopped the ball. I saw her rubbing her side afterwards, but when I asked if she was okay, she nodded and grinned happily. Yay Katiecat! Her team won, 2-1. Next week is the soccer break, so hopefully they won't forget everything since we don't have practices or a game next week.
After the game we came home and ate lunch, then picked up Kailey and went to the Pumpkin Farm near Josh's school. We bought tickets, and the kids went in the bounce house, in the tower slide, through the haunted barn, the corn "maze", played on the hay pyramid and ran through the hay bale house, rode the hay ride and the train ride and fed the goats. Then we picked pumpkins and came home. That was a lot of walking around, but they all had fun. We dropped Kailey off at home, then came home. I did some dishes, then lay around like a lump reading a book while Al cleaned up for gaming.
We only had Jason and Wendy, since Chris's car was still missing a clutch. Al ran a pick-up game of D&D. We made 3rd level characters. I have a gnome bard, Jason has a halfling rogue/cleric, and Wendy made a dwarf barbarian. All the characters are female, so we ended up naming them Emigh (pronounced Amy), Beth and Megan. :) We didn't get through the module, but we did have a lot of fun.
